I am scheduling this meeting in the first week of January, before the Raleigh Television Network (RTN) Producers' Workshop, for those who have attended at least the RTN Orientation session and who want to continue training to work on productions related to the libertarian message. (Fernie, Johnny C, let me know if this doesn't work for either or both of you, and Linda I know you may not be able to make it because it is the first Tuesday).
During this meeting, I would like us to answer the following questions:
* What roles are each of us willing to take in a production if trained to do so?* What is our initial approach to production (i.e. field production only or some studio production)?
* What ideas do we want to pitch to each other?
* What topics are we interested in covering initially, and which topic should go first?
* What approaches do we want to take (expert lectures, interviews with experts, field reporting, storytelling, a particular combination)?
Also, keep in mind that we need at least two people trained and willing to do each of the following for a given production (so each role has a backup). Be thinking about which of these you are interested in:
* Organizing, planning, and scheduling productions between group and RTN
* Writing and screenplay editing
* Production lead + directing
* Field crew, camera
* Field crew, lighting + sound
* Post-production lead (editing + uploading to RTN)
* Studio crew, camera
* Studio crew, lighting + control room
* Studio crew, sound
If you haven't attended orientation, but plan to do so in March so you can be part of our productions, feel free to come and take part in some of this early planning. For more information about RTN and to get on the list for the next orientation, reference the RTN information at raleigh-nc.org.
