SuperMex was a great location so we'll continue meeting there. Great Food, and good volume levels for us to conduct meetings makes for a winner. We'll be reviewing the results of our effort at the Farmer's Market booth (4th Sunday of the month), seeing what worked, what didn't and hopefully including you in on the meeting! Please RSVP. We're growing now, and if our numbers get larger than 8 people active and attending meetings, We are going to have to make special arrangements so that everyone in the meetup can be accommodated. RSVPing isn't such a difficult thing to do; please submit yours as early as possible. Near the intersection of Livingston and 2nd St in Belmont Shore, in Long Beach.

Libertarian Candidate For Governor, Art Olivier will be attending our Election Night Party! Wingstop at 1806 Ximeno Ave. They told me to call them a few days before and everything would be set up. Wings, Beer, and TV with enough volume and space for us to see the results come in over the evening. We'll be looking for some victories, but mostly we'll probably be watching to see how the various districts, counties, and cities trend with respect to vote totals. Of particular interest is Michael Badnarik's campaign for Congress in Austin. He's already raised $250,000 and has been spending it to get the word out about his candidacy. We'll also see how Herb Peters, and Dennis Chang do in their local runs for Congress. Hopefully they'll be able to spend the evening with us. Don't hesitate to bring a friend, your spouse, your fellow college or H.S. students, or a family member. This is a night for fun, not for recruitment - so let's have some. :) And if you have a digital camera, don't hesitate to bring it as we'll be needing to take and post pictures. See you all there!

Gonna be putting up the booth again. So we again have enough people staff a booth at the Farmers' Market. The purpose of staffing the booth has a few objectives. Here they are listed in a descending level of importance: 1.) Raise awareness of the Long Beach Libertarian Club and encourage others to join us, 2.) Distribute fliers and/or other information about the Libertarian Party, 3.) Capture any low hanging fruit by registering people to vote Libertarian if they happen to decide to do so. If you see our booth as a chance to become active, please don't hesitate, we're going to need as much help as we can get! RSVP Now! :) Come on out! Look at the link provided, the Market we'll be attending is "Long Beach South East" For more information, see http://www.harborare afarmersmarkets.org/

Tonight at our meetup, we decided that we are going to try and again staff a booth at the Farmers' Market. Here's how we've broken down the tasks: - Marcus: Deliver folding tables and chairs, pick them back up at the end of the event. Are you going to be available to deliver the table and chairs again? - Dennis: As Dennis is running for Congress, he'll be there shaking hands and kissing babies. Dennis has also volunteered to design our literature once the copy has been written. - Zander: I've purchased new literature, and will be supplying it. I'll also bring some clipboards and voter registration cards. Of course, I'll also be staffing the booth. If you see our booth as a chance to become active, please don't hesitate, we're going to need as much help as we can get! RSVP Now! :) Mapquest directions are about as close as I could get (East Marina Dr and East 2nd St). There should be Farmers' Market signs directing people to the market. However, if those signs are not prominently displayed, some may have problems. The Farmers' Market *isn't* at the corner of the streets but rather along East Marina Dr, in the parking lot along the southwest side of the street. Best geographical location would be defined, since there's no street address, as on East Marina between 2nd and Studebaker across from both the Hotel and Marina Shores Shopping Center (Wild Oats). We will be at the southernmost edge of the Market, with our booth under a tree. For more information, see http://www.harborare afarmersmarkets.org/

Here's how we've broken down the tasks: - Marcus: Deliver folding tables and chairs, pick them back up at the end of the event - Rodney: Pick up voter registration forms, check with the Registrar of Voters to see if they can be mailed to us; also check for a schedule of dates: deadlines for ballot arguments, deadlines for candidate filing, etc. Rodney also agreed to help staff the booth on Sunday - Dennis: As Dennis is running for Congress, he'll be there shaking hands and kissing babies. Dennis has also volunteered to design our literature once the copy has been written. - Suzanne: Helping to staff the booth, ordering clipboards and fliers from the national LP. - Zander: Writing the copy for our literature, supplying the paper for our literature to be printed on, obtaining a group banner, and staffing the booth. If you see our booth as a chance to become active, please don't hesitate, we're going to need as much help as we can get! Limerick's had a whole lot of people there who were watching a basketball game and making a lot of noise. Limerick's looks like a fun place, but not for political organizing. I *have* looked into the possibility of eating/organizing at Bacchus/Fringale in Naples (sunset + warm breezes + rooftop summer dining sound absolutely spectacular), but the owner seems hesitant, and I understand that he needs to turn a profit. If people are willing to spend more than $20.00 to attend a meeting and eat, it's certainly a possibility. We'll have to discuss it. I certainly don't want people to not come because of financial considerations... In the month of June, we agreed in May to solidify plans on putting together a voter registration booth out at the Farmer's Market at the LB Marina. We'll have information on that. We've started to solidify a plan around making some goals happen (increase size and attendance of the meetup - to in turn begin a organizing a precinct-canvassing operation). Come on out, BRING A FRIEND, have a beer (or soda, or water, as you prefer) and some good grub with some new friends. We may not change the world, but we certainly can change our corner of it! See you at SuperMex at June 28th at 8:00 pm! Near the intersection of Livingston and 2nd St in Belmont Shore, in Long Beach.
