Subject: Illegal immigration

The following letter was sent to the following Senators:

Senator Arlen Specter
Senator Mike DeWine
Senator Lindsey Graham
Senator Sam Brownback

Dear United States Senator,

As one who has never voted for anyone other than a Republican, I felt it necessary to write and tell you why I plan to vote Libertarian going forward. Among many other issues, I am in a complete state of disbelief over both the out of control spending this administration and this congress has unleashed on current and future generations of the American people, as well as the inept, incompetent and cowardly handling of the illegal alien crisis.

Regarding illegal immigration, I feel for these people. They are good hardworking people trying to escape the corrupt political and economic environment that is Mexico. If I was in their situation, I would do the same thing. That aside, the fact remains that they entered this country illegally, and we evidently don’t have leaders who care or have the strength to do anything meaningful about it. I would say the same if we shared a border with Sweden and we were being invaded by people with blonde hair and blue eyes. The fact remains that we can no longer afford to educate, medicate and incarcerate people who entered this country illegally. The Republicans condone bending the rules and breaking the law if it’s “good for business”. That’s a slippery slope. I’m sure “Duke” Cunningham and Jack Abramoff did what they thought was “good for business” as well. The Democrats don’t see this as a humanitarian issue. They simply see it as cheap votes. Call it what you will, it is still amnesty.

I have not left the Republican party, the Republican party has left me.

Sincerely,

XXXXX XXXXXXX
