I put out the announcement today that I'll be running for the US Congress in 2010 for Arizona's 5th district:

The main campaign site can be found here:

I know there's not a lot to do now in the way of collecting signatures, getting on the ballot.. that sort of thing. But I do want to get the ball rolling early so I'll have some good momentum going forward for the mid-term election cycle.

Nick,
Allow me to be the FIRST to pledge $500 to your campaign! You are a good man, and I will support you and your efforts in any and every way I can.

Thanks Ed!

And this brings up an interesting point. Since I put out my announcement, I've had several people email me and ask about contributing to my campaign. The problem is, I don't know how to accept contributions (and I don't mean the technical aspect of it.. I know how to setup a PayPal account or other merchant account), I'm referring to the legal aspects of this. Is there a process that I need to go through, or some paperwork to fill out before I can start accepting contributions? Or is it just as simple as letting people give me money?

Any direction on this would be much appreciated.

Thanks Ed. I've been speaking with Joe and he's provided me with the information that I need to get started.
