Better Ballot Glendale meeting

The Maricopa County Libertarian Party is working in conjunction with like-minded groups and individuals to enacted ranked choice voting in the city of Glendale.

Ranked choice voting (RCV) allows the voter to indicate their first, second, third... choices from among the candidates running for a given office. If no candidate wins a majority of first choice votes in the first counting, the candidate receiving the least number of votes is dropped from the race. A second round of counting is then conducted with the votes being credited to each voter's most preferred candidate still remaining in the race -- in essence an INSTANT runoff. If necessary, this process is repeated until one candidate has received a majority of the vote and is declared the winner.

RCV eliminates the need for costly run-off elections and ensures giving people the ability to express their preference of which candidate they prefer to be in office.
