Normally, I do not voice opinion on singular issues. But after much thought I realized this is not a singular issue, but rather, a point at which the tide will turn or not.
I am not as much "for" gay marriage as much as I am against government dictating who we can and cannot marry. A constitutional amendment saying who we can or cannot marry is a great way to drive one more nail into the coffin of liberty. Government also needs to stay the f*** out of the bedroom. As libertarians, we know that with liberty comes challenges, and to stand up for gay marriage as a straight person is quite a challenge. I may not agree with your opinion, but I will fight to the death your right to voice it. |

I was against gay marriage, because I thought it would water down or devalue marriage. I may not agree with the individuals choice, but the goverment should have zero say about personal matters. We need NO moral police. Conscience should guide individual choices. If you grant the goverment the right to make moral decisions one time it will run with that power, and eventually there will be no personal freedom on the grounds of protecting some faction of society from another.
