Ed Coleman is an Indianapolis City Councilman who formally switched from being a Republican to being a Libertarian in protest of those Republicans on the city council and their big-government ways. The Republicans on the city council now despise him, and he often butts heads with them, voting against their pork and against legislation they propose. Ed Coleman, Libertarian Indianapolis City Councilman, will be in Louisville on Saturday, October 17th, at 4PM, for a dinner meet and greet event. Ed Coleman holds the record for representing the most people as a Libertarian. We'll be at the waterfront Tumbleweed on Saturday at 4PM in the upstairs meeting room. This meetup is a mirror of a meetup scheduled by The Libertarian Party of Kentucky Louisville Meetup http://www.meetup.co m/lpky-3/

The Meetup is located to fully accomodate everyone from both sides of the river. We meet at the following location: Kingfish Restaurants 601 West Riverside Drive Jeffersonville, IN 47130 Getting there is easy. From Louisville take I-65 North across the Kennedy Bridge (Note: You can see the restaurant to your left while crossing the bridge) to Indiana and get off at the very first exit, Exit 0 - Court Ave. Turn right off the ramp and then turn right onto Pearl Street. Drive until Pearl Street ends at the Ohio River. Turn right onto Riverside Drive. Kingfish is on the left. Libertarians from the Metro Louisville and southern Indiana areas are encouraged to come and meet each month. Whether you are a big "L" or a small "l" libertarian, come and mingle with other like-minded people. People are disgusted and disenfranchised with both of the bigger older parties. If you seek another alternative, one that actually does support a smaller more limited government and lower taxes along with personal and economic freedom, then libertarians are your solution. This meetup is for all libertarians, whether party members or not.

The Metro Louisville TEA Party will be held in Central Park from 3PM to 7:30PM on Saturday, 9/5. It will be held in-conjunction with the TEA Party Express, which begins their part of the program at 5:30PM. The event is free to attend and open to the public. Bring your friends and family! The LPKY will have a booth at this event, with members of the LPIN assisting, and it should be a great time to mingle with other liberty-minded and liberty-concerned citizens, and will function as a "fun" event, and as an outreach event. If you have any questions or concerns, please direct them to Greg Hertzsch roadman@insightbb.co m See you on Saturday!

This Thursday through Saturday, August 27-29, is when the Sellersburg Celebrates festival will run. We will be operating our OPH booth once again this year. We need volunteers to help operate the booth each of these three days. On Thursday and Friday the booth will operate from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM. On Saturday the booth will begin at 1:00 PM and run until 10:00 PM. To get to Sellersburg Celebrates, take I-65 to Exit 9 and head east into Sellersburg. Go past the Arby's and turn right on Utica Street. Follow the signs. Basically you drive down a ways and turn left onto Service Drive. This road takes you into the park where the festivities are being held. Bring the family out for a day at the festival, as there will be a midway with rides and a stage for various entertainment, along with the many various vendor booths. We will be giving out the World's Smallest Political Quiz and our Vote Libertarian balloons. We will have Libertarian-related flyers and brochures to give out. Both the Democrats and Republicans will be operating their own booths, and the Constitution Party will have a booth as well. While these other parties will be touting and promoting their particular brand of more government, we will be representing the small government alternative. Our goal is to spread our message of freedom and to identify those who are libertarians but don't know it. Sellersburg Celebrates has a website. http://www.sellersbu rgscelebrates.com If you would like to help out with the booth, let me know what days and times you are available. Even if you can't volunteer to work the booth, stop by and see us during your time at the festival.

Meet Jason Talley and Pete Eyre of the Motorhome Diaries and learn about their recent adventures. http://www.motorhome diaries.com The Motorhome Diaries is the story of two friends who took to the road in April 2009 to search for freedom in America. Along the way, MARV (the Mobile Authority Resistance Vehicle), Jason and Pete meet individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds and viewpoints at college campuses, homes, businesses and organizations that are united by one thing: increasing individual freedom and responsibility and decreasing the scope of government.

The Libertarian Parties of southern Indiana are hosting an Operation Politically Homeless booth this weekend at the Charlestown Founders Day Festival. The festival runs Friday, June 26 from 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM and Saturday, June 27 from 11:00 AM until 10:00 PM. We will be giving festivalgoers the World's Smallest Political Quiz and posting their quiz result on a large quiz chart. We will be handing out Libertarian Party and other freedom-related literature. We will give out balloons that say "Vote Libertarian" on them. We will answer any questions about the party and libertarianism in general. Our goal is to identify others who are libertarian and invite them to our other meetups and functions. We need volunteers to help operate the booth. If you can help out anytime during festival hours either on Friday or Saturday it would be much appreciated. Come and help us spread the word about liberty and freedom this weekend at Founders Day Festival. Founders Day Festival takes place at Greenway Park in downtown Charlestown just off of the main road Hwy 3. Turn off of Hwy 3 west onto Main Street. Drive two blocks and turn onto Spring Street. The park entrance is one block on the right. The festival can be seen from the main road Hwy 3.
