INFO: The Tax Day Tea Tea Party protests are a series of nationally coordinated, locally organized protests across America in 2009, loosely based upon the original Boston Tea Party. The protests are in opposition to various aspects of government spending, including the Homeowners Affordability and Stability Plan, the Troubled Assets Relief Program, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, and the Omnibus Appropriations Act of 2009. http://taxdayteaparty...

"The Boston Tea Party was a direct action protest by colonists in Boston, a town in the British colony of Massachusetts, against the British government. On December 16, 1773, after officials in Boston refused to return three shiploads of taxed tea to Britain, a group of colonists boarded the ships and destroyed the tea by throwing it into Boston Harbor. The incident remains an iconic event of American history, and has often been referenced in other political protests." (Wikipedia)

The Bond and Fayette county Libertarians and the Mothers institute sponsored The local Tea Party! The turnout was incredible! There are people EVERYWHERE that are fed up with the irrational and stupid and evil behavior of those in Washington! And are willing to come out and show their displeasure. Freedom is on the way back! Thanks to our chair, Nathan Dothager for doing such a good job! Also thank to our other speaker, Retired business man and mayoral candidate Neil Clark and Jan Jones Stover, former executive director of the Libertarian Party of Illinois and now the Director of the Mothers Institute and publisher of 'Mothers for Liberty' Great people and great program! Also thanks to the local radio station ( WKRP/WKRV) and The Leader-Union newspaper for their coverage!
    •  Our Tea Party was a success with about 200 people showing up. We handed out literature from Downsize DC, the Campaign for Liberty, The Mothers Institute, plus we had LP brochures, pocket Constitutions and the World's Smallest Political Quiz to give away as well. The crowd was knowledgeable, energetic, very receptive to our speakers, and came from all sides of the political spectrum. We also got some decent press coverage via the radio and newspaper. I included the quote from Abigail Adams in my speech -- she was reported to have said just 11 days before the original Tea Party in 1773 … “The flame is kindled and like Lightening it catches from Soul to Soul” And from what we witnessed during our local event, I'd say the flame has been rekindled and once again is spreading from soul to soul!
