No War on Iran

The No War On Iran Coalition urges all citizens of Chicago to support a resolution opposing a U.S. attack on Iran introduced in City Council by Alderman Joe Moore. Noting that 16 U.S. intelligence agencies have agreed that Iran does not have a nuclear weapons program and that it poses no imminent threat to the U.S., the resolution expresses the will of the people of Chicago opposing any U.S. attack on Iran and urging the Bush Administration to engage Iran diplomatically.

Hearings on the resolution will be held Tuesday, May 13 at 11:30 AM in Room 201-A of City Hall. Among those confirmed as testifying at the hearing are Douglass Cassel, Stephen Kinzer, John Mearsheimer, Norma Claire Moruzzi, and Scott Ritter. A vote on the resolution will take place the next day, Wednesday, May 14 at 10:00 AM in the City Council chambers. We hope to see everyone there."

Frankly, if you can skip out of the office for a couple of hours, this should be a great opportunity to meet like-minded folks, let them know that they do not need to settle for the same old politicians, and to get signatures for our petition drive.
