This event is not strictly a Libertarian event but all my libertarian friends are invited. In fact, If we know each other, you're invited. If you come with someone I invited either directly or by virtue of their membership in a group, you're invited. If you don't recognize the date, it is Inauguration Day. By 7pm when the party starts, Obama should be sworn in. This is NOT a celebration of the inauguration of Obama, but rather a good riddance gesture toward Bush. There will be food, drinks including champagne, and music. I'll start up with regular monthly Yolo Libertarian meetups again in February.

This is our regular monthly meetup. We get to know each other, discuss the news, political philosophy, upcoming events, and whatever else is on our mind. Snacks and beverage will be provided. Likely topics of discussion:
Barr/Root campaign update (brief since we have a separate meetup just for this)
Ron Paul (same caveat as above)
Legislative action items
Strategy for expanding LP membership and registered voters - setting of goals
Potentially -- election of LP of Yolo County Central Committee officers
Newsletter - The Yolo Liberty Chronicle
Ideas for a member prospect kit and new member kit
Tabling -
Assemble a standard "kit" for Libertarian tabling
It would be helpful if people have suggestions of literature.
My initial thoughts are that Operation Politically Homeless should be the core.
Another idea is to have a binder of newspaper stories showing attacks on liberty.
Bring suggestions for tabling opportunities (Farmers' Markets have been proposed)

This is our regular monthly meetup. We get to know each other, discuss the news, political philosophy, upcoming events, and whatever else is on our mind. I intend on discussing the Barr/Root Presidential ticket of the LP. Also, we might discuss the just-passed election, especially Prop 98. Snacks and beverage will be provided. I will show the Presidential debate video from the LP National Convention at the end of the meeting so anyone not wanting to watch it can leave at that time. I changed the venue because it appears the Mountain Mike's I had scheduled may have gone out of business.
