We meet 6:30pm - 7:30 or 8pm for dinner and socializing, then hold the official business meeting after that.

This month will be a Central Committee meeting. We will be proposing changes to our bylaws to allow for alternate officers or a reduced quorum to make it easier to conduct business when some of the executive committee can't make it to a meeting, and to create an engineering committee to make it easier to comply with the county's interpretation of part of the election code.

Important business at this meeting is planning for the Central Committee meeting in August, where we intend to make modifications to our bylaws to reduce the required quorum or allow officers to have alternates.

Topics of discussion will most likely be the results of the California Budget "Fix" election, and Harland will report back on what happened at the CA LP Convention in scenic Visalia.

I'd like to suggest that if we have no other pressing business, we each take a ballot measure to analyze, and give a summary at the meeting. This is two months prior to the statewide election, the time when those of us who hope to influence the vote need to start spreading the word.

This months plan is to get people started writing letters to the editor. A few of use will bring laptops to write as we go. We'll have addresses for local papers, recent topics to get you going, and most important, a good atmosphere to bounce ideas around get the right argument down.
