In Sequoia High School District, one local libertarian gave me a cautious recommendation for Noria Zasslow, based on a candidate statement where she called for freeing students in the more violent schools to go to other districts, and ending the campaign against the Everest charter school.
Redwood City School Board voters have the opportunity to vote for one of our own in Jack Hickey, currently a board member for the Sequoia Healthcare District. Jack's been a strong advocate for school choice for many years.
For all our (sometimes) rhetoric, this isn't yet a totalitarian dictatorship. Sure, we can quibble with whether the impartial analysis is really impartial, or if the public review periods were long enough, but the fact is, if we get enough libertarians to the polls, we can hold the state in check.
