Not sure if you're a democrat, republican, libertarian, or other? Take this short quiz.

Want a more detailed analysis of where you stand? Take these more thorough tests.

I only scored a 78 on the Purity Test, There are still some things I just can not accept privatization on, Jails, Courts, Law making... All things must be considered separately in my opinion. Privatization only works for some things not all.. just my 2 cents.

51-90 points: You are a medium-core libertarian, probably self-consciously so. Your friends probably encourage you to quit talking about your views so much.

I guess I'm half-socialist, half anarchist... lol

Should I remain a Libertarian?, I really am more of an independent I suppose but I identify with many "Libertarian goals, just not all of them. I'm for drastically lower tax, no unions, but I'm for universal healthcare, local police, fire, and public charter schools.

I believe most governing should be at the state and local level with the federal only handling national defense
and national healthcare. The national government would be forbidden to engage in any activity other than
border defense.
.
Taxation I would put at the state and local level too with only a 10 percent tithe of state tax money going to the federal for national defense and national healthcare. I would abolish all income taxes and property taxes in favor of a flat sales tax which must be reauthorized every 5 years by voters.

I'm for legalizing drugs such as alcohol and marijuana, but I would require a state(not federal) licensed prescription for harder drugs after a consulation with an drug abuse counselor who would give drug
education including morgue and psych ward visits.
A would allow only violent individuals to be incarcerated in prisons

I support legalized prostitution between consenting adults of any gender.

I support marriage for all adult humans regardless of gender.

Well... Am I in the right party or would I have to be more 'lock-step"?

Serious question, answers invited.

Several of your views are libertarian. As a political party we will be the most in sync with your views on individual liberty.

The primary principle of the party is "non coercion". An individual should be allowed to act in any way that doesn't force others to do things against their will or defraud them.

The one area in which you seem to be most in opposition to this principle is in your belief that it is a legitimate role of government to provide medical services (through universal health care... a misnomer) by confiscating property of some to provide for others. I recommend that you read Health Care in a Free Society: Rebutting the Myths of National Health Insurance to see some of the flaws in so called universal health care.

You can also find a broad free market overview of Health care at http://mises.org/stor... .

I look forward to hearing your views on these articles. I am interested to see if you have any issues with the articles or the arguments set forth within them. Unlike most political philosophies, you will find that the more you learn about libertarianism the more it makes sense.

The Libertarian Purity Test is not a good test to prove if you are Libertarian. There are some questions that make it out that Libertarian believe in no government when this is not true. Libertarians believe government should only intervene to protect an individuals rights of liberty, life, and property. To abolish all government programs is not Libertarian; we should abolish most.

Political Compass

Economic Left/Right: 3.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.15

Purity Score

120: You have entered the heady realm of hard-core libertarianism. Now doesn't that make you feel worse that you didn't get a perfect score?

I've got problems with both of these tests, but primarily with the Purity Score. Refer to William's post above me for the reason why. It's too black and white, and implies that Libertarianism = Anarchy.
